Zero Tolerance Marijuana Policy

****Signature required at the bottom for all contracted SSA chauffeurs******

PURPOSE

    • SSA maintains a strict Zero Tolerance Policy for marijuana in order to protect:
      • Client experience
      • Company reputation
      • Legal compliance
      • Vehicle cleanliness and longevity
    • This policy applies to both drivers and clients, before, during, and after rides.

Client Restrictions

    • Clients may not bring marijuana into SSA vehicles at any time.
    • If a client has visible possession or strong weed odor:
      • Politely inform them marijuana is not permitted.
      • Explain lingering odor damages client experience and resale value of luxury interiors.
      • Pause boarding until the substance is removed.
      • If they persist to keep it with them onboard, explain that you could lose your job and you have to enforce this.
    • If odor is detected during trip:
      • Remind client marijuana must remain outside vehicle.
      • If refusal continues, contact SSA management for next steps, but continue the trip.
    • Clients wishing to smoke during a trip must:
      • Be at least 100 feet from the vehicle.
      • Ensure vehicle doors and windows are closed before re-entry.

Driver Rules

  • 24-Hour Rule: Drivers are not permitted to smoke within 24 hours of any scheduled trip.
  • On-Job Prohibition: Drivers are never permitted to smoke:
    • Inside the vehicle
    • Around the vehicle (including parking lots, pickup areas, or client stops)
  • Possession: Drivers may not have marijuana in their personal belongings while in company vehicles.
  • Appearance & Odor: Drivers who arrive to client pickup smelling of marijuana will face immediate termination.

Professional Response Protocols

    • If marijuana is detected:
      • Remain calm and professional. Do not be confrontational.
      • Document the incident in writing with date, time, and client details.
      • Notify dispatch/management immediately.
    • If a situation escalates:
      • Prioritize safety.
      • Pull over in a safe, public location if necessary.
      • Contact SSA management and/or authorities if required.

Reasoning & Liability

    • Marijuana odor is especially damaging to luxury vehicles:
      • Lingering smells can last for days or weeks.
      • Odor can seep into leather, headliners, and A/C vents, requiring costly detailing.
    • SSA reserves the right to bill clients for cleaning and loss-of-use fees if policy is violated.
    • Drivers are responsible for:
      • Inspecting vehicle interiors before and after each trip.
      • Logging any odors or residue in the dispatch system.

Disciplinary Actions

    • Driver Violations:
      • First offense: Automatic 2 Strikes. If you already have 1 strike before a weed violation, this third results in Immediate termination (odor or possession).
      • Second Offense: Forfeiture of payment, immediate termination.
    • Client Violations:
      • Refusal of service
      • Cleaning fee charged to client’s card on file.
    • SSA stands firm on zero tolerance to protect company reputation and safety.
